Many treatment approaches may apply to the conservation of frames. Preservation treatments for frames often combine elements of both conservation and restoration. Treatments can include cleaning, consolidating and re-adhering unstable areas of a surface, large reconstruction projects and structural stabilization. We aim to do the least invasive treatment and we will work with a client to determine the most suitable treatment plan.

We believe our approach to frame conservation is unique in that we incorporate our training and experience with painting conservation to reach a solution that is beneficial to both the painting and the frame as a working unit. The structure and stability of a frame contributes to the safety of the artwork when it is correctly implemented. We do not just ensure that a frame is structurally sound in itself. We make sure that the frame and the artwork are stable and work together.
